No Risk, No Spice, No Life

This is the first lesson of my book - No Risk, No Spice, No Life.

If you crave a life brimming with adventure, new experiences, and self-discovery, you need to take risks and dare to do something new.

Accept that things could go wrong, but do it anyway.

Here are some quotes to get you thinking.

  • "The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." - Michelangelo

  • "If you don't risk anything, you risk even more." - Erica Jong

  • "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." - T.S. Eliot

  • "Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller

  • "The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle." - Steve Jobs

  • "And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." - Anaïs Nin

  • "You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore." - William Faulkner

  • "Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the assessment that something else is more important than fear." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

  • "Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage." - Anaïs Nin

  • "The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience." - Eleanor Roosevelt

  • "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain (often attributed)
